Chairman Virgilio Angelo visited La Union Desk Office

Angelo  (center) during his visit for the Regional Fellowship Meeting  for the PFI’s, SME clients and the DTI Regional Officers of Region 1 and the Cordillera Administrative Regions last April 25, 2008.

The meeting with the PFI’s and the SME’s was held in Max’s Restaurant San Fernando La Union. Chairman Angelo met with the Chairman and General Manager of the four newly accredited PFI of the La Union Desk Office: Rural Bank of Malasiqui (P5M), Cooperative Bank of Benguet (3M), Nueva Segovia Consortium of Cooperatives (P3M) and Sta. Cruz Savings and Development Cooperative (3M).

The key officers of Rang-ay Bank, Ilocos Sur Cooperative Bank, Cooperative Bank of Ilocos Norte and Galimuyod Savings and Development Cooperative who attended the fellowship have likewise manifested their intention of accrediting their institutions with the Small Business Corporation within the year. The La Union Desk Office staff jubilantly welcomes this development and is looking forward for the partnership with these institutions.   

Chairman Angelo shared to the participants the role that SBC will play in the helping the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises ( MSME’s) in the country with the expected signing into law of the new Magna Carta for MSME’s and the need to interfaced with the financial institutions in Region 1 and the Cordillera Administrative Regions who shared the same mission and vision of SBC in the development of the MSME’s  for the fulfillment of its mandate.

The SME participants shared their business concerns and gave their suggestions on how to improve the delivery of services by SBC Corporation on a lively discussion with Chairman Angelo, SVP-FDS Ma. Luna C. David and VP-DFG, Daniel M.Gonzales.  Two senior Account Officers from the Head Office Raymond Trajano and Joy Alvina were part of the delegation and instrumental in the conduct and success of the fellowship meeting.

The meeting with the Regional Directors and Provincial Directors of Region 1 was held at Oasis Resort Hotel, San Fernando, La Union. Chairman Angelo discussed to the group the role of SBC and the need of strengthening the partnership with the DTI to achieve both the mandate of the two agencies in MSME development. All the Provincial Directors from Region 1 and the Regional Office representative attended the meeting.
